Serbia continues not to recognize the symbols of the state of Kosovo.

The head of the Kosovo office at the Serb government, Marko Djuric declared that “nobody can force Serbs of Kosovo to accept passports which have unacceptable symbols which have been declared unlawful with the independence of Kosovo”.

He said that Serbia will never recognize Kosovo. Representatives of the government of Kosovo say that with such nationalist declarations, Serbia’s path toward the EU will be long.

“This is a ridiculous declaration of a Serb state official addressed to the citizens of a neighboring country in order for them not to be equipped with official documents of the state in which they live”, declared the minister of Integration, Bekim Collaku.

Minister Collaku also said that EU’s institutions and EU states must listen to these nationalist declarations issued by Serb officials.

“With such approach, Serbia shows that it is not interested for the normalization of neighboring relations with Kosovo, as a necessary condition for EU accession”, Collaku says. /
