Serbia: Đurić takes office in Washington, is welcomed by Grenell

Newly appointed Ambassador of Serbia to the United States Marko Đurić said yesterday, on the occasion of his first working day in the Serbian diplomatic mission in Washington, that Serbia and the United States will work together more than ever for the better future of all.

“On the first working day at the Serbian Embassy in the United States, enthusiasm and adrenaline running high!” Đurić said on Twitter.

He added that he and his team have begun a mission to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

All this, as the ambassador stated, will come to light in 2021, when the 140th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries is celebrated.

Outgoing US President Donald Trump’s special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Richard Grenell welcomed the new Serbian Ambassador to Washington.

“Welcome, Marko. We are honored to have you in the United States,” Grenell replied to the tweet by Serbia’s new ambassador to Washington on his first day in office. /ibna
