The President of Republic, Bujar Nishani has participated in the celebrations organized on the occasion of Croatia’s accession in the European Union.
Invited by his Croatian counterpart, Ivo Josipovic and Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic, the President of the Republic, Bujar Nishani participated in the celebrations held last evening in Zagreb, on the occasion of Croatia’s accession in the European Union.
During his stay in Zagreb, President Nishani also participated during a work breakfast hosted by the President of Croatia, Ivo Josipovic for the presidents of the Western Balkan countries.
President Nishani also met with the US State Department senior official, Philip Reeker on the second day of his stay to Croatia.
During his meeting with President Nishani, Reeker considered the June 23 elections held in Albania as the best ones in the history of the country. President Nishani also praised the electoral process, adding that the elections and the transition of power are testifying the wisdom of the people and the Albanian political class.
President Nishani and Mr. Reeker agreed upon the fact that the division of powers and the normal functioning of independent institutions are crucial for a healthy and functional democracy. /ibna/
