Pristina, June 4, 2013

The UN Secretary General, Ban ki Moon has written in his report addressed to the United Nations Security Council about the developments in Kosovo, which will be examined in a week’s time, that he welcomes the first agreement based on the principles of the normalization of relations.

Meanwhile, the delegation of Kosovo chaired by Prime Minister Hashim Thaci is also expected to participate in the meeting of the Security Council.

Secretary Moon congratulates political leaders in Pristina and Belgrade. “This is a historical achievement. Political leaders showed patience, political vision and the ability to make a real progress”, states his report.

Moon says that he’s expecting the implementation of the agreement reached on April 19. “The results achieved in the dialogue give way to long term normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina”, said Moon. Secretary General says that the same spirit of compromise, determination and good will must also be shown in the implementation of the agreement in both sides of Iber river.

Moreover, Moon gives a chronology of the quarterly developments in the north of the country, of the general security, rule of law, the return of displaced persons, cultural and religious heritage and human rights.

At the beginning of next week, Prime Minister Thaci will start an official visit in the USA. /ibna/
