The new EU ambassador to Kosovo, Natalya Apostolova says that the Stabilization and Association Agreement clarifies and speeds up Kosovo’s integration in the European Union.

“SAA is important politically and economically. It makes Kosovo’s path toward the EU clearer. This document will bring significant benefits for the citizens of Kosovo and in general, for the economic development of the country. This may act as a turning point for all political parties, in order to focus their agenda toward the European Union”, the ambassador declared in front of the parliamentary committee on European integration.

The European diplomat also stressed the importance of the rule of law and the fight against corruption and organized crime.

“Rule of law is crucial and key to SAA. If this process is not addressed clearly, it will prevent EU integration. In the future, we want to see functional war against financial crime, the strengthening of the war against corruption and we want to see people who face charges leave and their assets be seized”. /
