European Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, said today in the parliament of Kosovo that the country must be engaged to solve its own domestic problems.
According to him, the Association and Stabilization Agreement doesn’t offer such solution to Kosovo.
“This agreement will not solve your domestic issues”, said Hahn in his address in front of MPs in the parliament of Kosovo.
“This agreement also helps our collaboration and Kosovo must engage for an improvement of relations with Serbia”, Hahn said.
“Kosovo must implement the agreements reached with Serbia. This sometimes requires difficult decisions and compromise”, Hahn said.
According to Hahn, dialogue with Serbia must not be considered as an obstacle, but an opportunity for regional integration.
“Without dialogue, Kosovo can lose a lot”, he said. Even in this session, the opposition had hung banners against the government of Kosovo.
Two of the banners wrote “Is ethnic segregation an EU value?!” and “Unjust agreement shall not pass!” /ibna/
