Russian UNMIK’s employee is declared persona non-grata in Kosovo

Government of Kosovo has declared Russian citizen, Mikhail Krasnoshchenkov, who works for the United Nations Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), persona non-grata.

Prime Minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj said that this decision has been taken following actions carried out by the Russian national in violation of constitutional order in Kosovo.

“The decision that was taken against this person who works for the UN is designed to make him leave the territory of Kosovo. I call on the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General to Kosovo to respect the decision”, the Prime Minister declared.

The Russian national, who works for UNMIK, has placed barricades on the road in order to prevent Kosovo police from passing there during a police operation which aimed the arrest of several police officials and individuals suspected of corruption and organized crime.

Meanwhile, Prosecutor’s Office in Mitrovica has demanded the lifting of this person’s immunity. On the other hand, UNMIK has declared that it will send this request to the UN. /ibna/
