Russian ambassador in Serbia Alexander Chepurin likened his country to the mythological bird Phoenih, while comparing United States with a “deflated bubble”.
At the round table “Serbia, NATO, Russia – what is Serbian interest”, organized by Center for developing international cooperation in Belgrade, Chepurin said that “in recent years world changes in radical manner”.
“In 1990s the bipolar world came to an end and become unipolar, the American one”, Chepurin said. “Russia is ready to cooperate with everybody, but not following the American law, but international; not following the double standards, but on an equal basis”, Russian diplomat underlined.
“I have heard one phrase, which suggests, I would say, roughly, that ‘America will deflate itself like a bubble, while Russia will arise like Phoenix'”, Chepurin said. Speaking about NATO, he underlined that United States have been using it in order to “maintain its domination over the world”, including the European Union.
In Chepurin’s words Russia had always been proposing the creation of the security system equal for all, and Western Europe “should be interested about that”.
