On Wednesday, the Romanian government approved “the substantiation study for the highway segment connecting the cities of Ploiesti and Brasov”, romania-insider.com reports.
Prior to the construction of the highway, Romanian authorities will speak with possible investors, with the talks said to begin in September, by the end of 2018, they are planning to sign the relevant contract and the building work should start in 2019. It is estimated it will take four years to complete it and it will cost 1.36 billion euros, as prime minister of Viorica Dancila said, according to local News.ro.
Dancila explained that the construction will be a joint public-private sector deal with the private partner able to operate the highway for 20 years after its completion.
“The state is willing to pay a bonus to the private partner if the highway is completed before schedule but the contractors will also have to pay penalties if the project is delayed.”… / IBNA
