Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu had a chance to meet with Lockheed Martin Corporation CEO Marillyn Hewson, who is paying a visit to Bucharest, with whom they discussed Romania’s most important defense goals in the framework of its strategic partnership with the United States.
US Ambassador Adrian Zuckerman was also present at the meeting.
Projects related to the maintenance and modernization of certain arms systems and research cooperation were also brought up.
Mr. Aurescu underlined his country’s interest in implementing research projects in Romania, focusing on the use of new technologies. For her part, Miss Hewson stressed that Romania has a well-trained and talented workforce, as well as a robust industrial base, and has pledged to develop joint defense and research projects, focusing on new technologies such as artificial intelligence. /ibna
