Romania: Voting on motion of censure postponed due to absence of a quorum

The voting in the Romanian Parliament on the motion of censure against the Orban government tabled by the Social Democrat PSD party was postponed due to the absence of a quorum, as only 226 of the 233 required members attended the process.

The session of Parliament during which the motion of censure was to be discussed and voted on could not take place today, Monday, due to absence of a quorum, according to the announcement of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Social Democrat member Marcel Ciolacu.

Following the roll call, only 226 MEPs attended the meeting, against the 233 MEPs and senators required.

“We have not been able to put the agenda of the special session to a vote”, Ciolacu said. /ibna
