European Transport Commissioner Adina Vălean presented to the Romanian RFI the economic recovery plan proposed by the European Commission and the methods to repay the amounts borrowed from the European Union. According to Vălean, Romania could receive € 19.62 billion in non-refundable financial aid and up to € 11.5 billion in loans.
These funds can then be used in a variety of areas, such as health infrastructure, transportation, education or the digitization of public services.
The European Commissioner also explained that, in order to raise these funds, the Romanian government must submit a plan by April 2021, based on the specific recommendations of the European Commission, and publish it in the European Semester report. /ibna
