The 102nd anniversary of the union of the three principalities was modestly celebrated in Romania, yesterday, in the context of the restrictions imposed by the quarantine. On the occasion of the National Day, the President of the country, Klaus Iohannis honored “the heroes of this year, the doctors and the nursing staff.”
Messages were sent among others by Prime Minister Ludovic Orban, opposition leader Marcel Ciolacu and Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu – who expressed confidence that “Romania’s foreign policy must remain a policy of national consensus, coherent and predictable, leading to tangible results for citizens,” and US Ambassador Adrian Zuckerman.
In his message, the US Ambassador congratulated the Romanian people on the celebration of the 102nd anniversary of the Great Union and stressed that the US would continue to support Romania’s development as a leader at regional and European level, with particular reference to bilateral defense cooperation and the energy sector. /ibna
