Romania: Medical equipment production kicks off

Prime Minister Ludovic Orban announced that Dacia-Renault Group would be kicking off its effort to commence the production of respirators, thanks to a project awarded to Romania by an American company. The prime minister also told Radio Romania News that Romania had purchased more than 400 respirators from abroad, yet they did not find their way to Romania due to restrictions imposed by exporting countries.

The Ministry of National Defense (MApN) announced that it had begun production of face masks for military personnel involved in the fight against Covid-19. About 1,000 items have been manufactured out of a total of 20,000.

In addition, MApN received a third batch of 35 airtight stretchers out of a total of 100 designed and built as part of a military research program. The remaining 20 will be received this week. /ibna
