Roman Catholics celebrate Easter, DP says Albanians were ‘reborn’ 20 years ago; SP says they are waiting for a national revival

Tirana, April 1, 2013

Politicians took advantage of the Roman Catholic Easter celebrations to release more electoral messages.

Prime Minister of Albania and Democratic Party Chair Sali Berisha, in his meeting with the Head of the Albanian Catholic Church Rrok Mirdita at the Saint Paul Cathedral in Tirana said Albanians have undergone a revival process.

He told the Archbishop: “I wish Happy Easter to all Albanians on this day! Two decades ago the country, the entire nation, underwent a revival process.”

For his part, the Socialist party representative MP Blendi Klosi said following his meeting with Archbishop Mirdita:

“We wish that revival wins over gloom, the gloom that rises from the lack of hope, lack of opportunities to live in a free and honest world.” /ibna/
