Remains from the Roman period discovered in the northeast of Albania

In the northeast of Albania, remains and objects belonging to the roman period of the fourth and sixth century before Christ.

The discovery was made in the village of Prell in Mat, during the works for the construction of a private hydro power plant.

The Regional National Office of Culture in Shkoder and the National Culture Office in Diber, say that human remains of that period have been discovered along with ceramic objects in very good condition.

Specialist from Diber, Festim Hoxha, says that the search led to the discovery of a fortifying wall which belongs to the same period.

Archeologists Klejdi Zguro and Arjol Porja say that this area has great archeological potential.

They are preparing a report to be submitted to the National Committee of Archeology. According to them, these archeological findings are extraordinary assets for the district of Diber. /ibna/
