The remains of six Greek officers and soldiers that went missing in Cyprus during the Turkish invasion of 1974, were delivered to Greece. The relics were found after excavations in Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot areas and the identity of the men was determined by DNA testing. The remains belong to colonel Sotirios Stavrou, to soldiers Dimitrios Tsoukas and Zacharias Kardaras, to commando Nikolaos Kavrochorianos and to officers Theofanis Loukakis and Nikolaos Tsagkiropoulos, who are all going to be buried in Greece.

There are totally 77 men in the list of missing Greek soldiers that is almost certain that were killed during the clashes of 1974 -four of them went missing earlier, in the clashes of 1963 to 1967.
