On behalf of the government of Kosovo, prime minister Hashim Thaci has expressed his indignation about what he considered as the shameful act of the reintroduction of the barricade on the Iber river bridge yesterday afternoon.
“Yesterday, as prime minister of the country, I welcomed the voluntary removal of the barricade by members of the Serb community, hoping that it would be a sign of civil maturity. Unfortunately, in a few hours, I and citizens of Kosovo were disappointed about the shameful act of the reintroduction of the barricade on the bridge”, reads the press statement of prime minister Thaci.
“This is a disgraceful and dangerous game, but above all, it’s unlawful and unacceptable for the values of our society and democratic state. The responsible people for these unlawful acts will sooner or later face the law”.
“Freedom of movement is a fundamental right and it cannot be threatened by anybody. Therefore, I call on local Serb leaders to be reasonable and remove this barricade.”
“The disgrace that this barricade represents cannot be concealed by flowers planted in the wrong place. This disgrace will be effaced once the barricade is gone and the bridge is free for circulation”, reads the press statement of the prime minister of Kosovo. /ibna/
