British MEP on FYR Macedonia, Richard Howitt declared that regress for FYROM in the aspect of European integration poses a danger for the country. He has called on the European Council to announce a date for the start of negotiations for accession, without further delaying this process and for the name dispute to be solved in the initial phase of the negotiations. “Regress is really dangerous. I have explained these two key issues and we don’t want to see regress. We’re all aware of the December 2012 events and of the difficulties of this year. This is the reason why we don’t want the process to move backwards”, declared Howitt.
According to the British MEP, there’s strong criticism about the domestic developments in FYROM and for the approach that is implemented by the country in the aspect of Euro integration. But, Mr. Howitt’s request in the European parliament has been objected by two Bulgarian MEPs, Evgeni Kirilov and Stanimir Ilcin, who accused Skopje for nationalism and provocation toward neighbors. Meanwhile, Greek MPs have not discussed during these proceesings. /ibna/
