Albanian government has decided to expand the list of medications refunded by the state with 56 new medications, which are mainly for people who suffer from tumors, children, pregnant women, pensioners and blind people.
Minister of Health, Ilir Beqaj said today (12.03) following the government meeting where this decision was taken, that starting from April 1, there will be a refund of 56 new medications from the fund of obligatory health care insurance.
Mr. Beqaj (photo) said that these medications will for the first time treat several illnesses which were not covered before by the refundable medication list. The number of refundable medications now goes to 477.
For the first time, this year the list also contains medications that treat social wounds, such as alcoholics.
There will also be positive changes in the treatment of illnesses such as diabetes, anemia, cardiac illnesses and patients suffering from cancer, in neurology, dermatology, gynecology, urology, mental health, people suffering from allergies and problems with the eyes. /ibna/
