Red Cross in FYROM will allocate over 1 million euros for people who were affected by the floods in Skopje. General secretary of this organization, Sait Saiti said that this fund has been collected through donations that citizens and businesses have made.
“As of today, we will start the distribution of funds for all families that were affected by the floods. The fund allocated for every family is 250 euros”, said the general secretary of the Red Cross for IBNA.
According to him, their organization has also allocated other aids for the residents of flooded areas.
Meanwhile, the government has decided to compensate all the residents of these areas, allocating an amount of 34,6 million euros for them.
These funds will be distributed once parliament votes in favor. The opposition is against this, saying that there’s no need to review the budget and that there are sufficient funds to compensate the residents of flooded areas. /balkaneu.com/
