Consumer protection, agricultural sector and forestry in the framework of the Stabilization and Association Agreement were the main topics discussed in the last meeting held in Brussels between representatives of Kosovo and European Commission.
In all the domains that were discussed, the Commission and Kosovo have agreed on the importance of the implementation of the priority of the Agenda for the European Reforms and Program of Economic Reforms.
Kosovo’s consumers deserve to consume the same quality food like citizens of the European Union.
The Commission said that in order for this to happen, EU standards must be applied in all levels .
The meeting also discussed ways on how to stop damaging activities such as illegal deforestation.
Agriculture and food safety have benefited a lot from the aid that has been given so far, especially from the EU’s grants for rural areas and this will continue to be a priority in the future.
The Stabilization and Association Agreement is the framework through which the EU administration and Kosovo administration regularly discuss technical and political issues regarding the European agenda. /balkaneu.com/
