Within the next few days is expected to be completed the agreement between the institutions and the Greek Government, estimated the representative of the European Commission, Annika Breidthardt, during the established press conference.
“The institutions and Greek authorities are expected to complete the agreement at a technical level, and immediately after that, the Eurogroup is ready to support the next disbursement”, she said, welcoming the results of the Eurogroup.
“This is an important step towards the completion of the evaluation”, she said.
What remains, according to her, is the enactment of the prerequisite measures in the next few days.
Regarding the debt, she reiterated that the European Commission will contribute its expertise in the discussions, stating however that it is up to the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) and creditors of Greece to take critical decisions.
Finally, regarding the IMF, she referred to the Eurogroup statement, according to which “the agreement on the debt and adequate financing assurances from its European partners are expected to allow the IMF to participate in the program”.
