Rapporteur on Albania in the European Parliament, Knut Fleckenstein, says that the reform in the judicial system that Albanian Parliament approved, gave way to the launch of accession talks.
Fleckenstein said today that he will demand to the European Union to launch accession talks as soon as possible.
“Now I shall demand to my colleagues in the European Parliament and Council of Europe to launch accession talks as soon as possible. This is one step closer for Albania toward the European Union”, Mr. Fleckenstein said.
He said that he didn’t see any losers or winners from this reform.
Praising the ratification of the reform as an important condition for the launch of talks, Mr. Fleckenstein says that this process doesn’t end here, on the contrary, it has just started.
He warns that “the implementation will not be easy, but with the support of the international community and with a vigilant civil society in Albania, change is possible”. /balkaneu.com/
