Prime Minister Edi Rama and President of the European Council, Donald Tusk concluded that “fight against terrorism is the biggest challenge that Europe and the world is facing today”. Mr Rama and Mr. Tusk held a meeting in Tirana on Sunday, followed by a news conference.
Commenting on the terrorist attacks, the Albanian PM said that “We Albanians will continue to be on the right side of history, in the great alliance of the good against evil. What happened in France and what’s happening every day give us strength and uphold the values that we have chosen to represent”, the Albanian PM said.
Another important topic was that of refugees. Mr. Tusk praised Albania’s readiness to contribute in the solution of the refugee crisis. “Western Balkans is in the front line of the refugee routes”, Tusk said.
PM Rama said that “Albania has not been affected by the refugee crisis and is not part of the route that they use, but as we have said, with the advent of winter, if the refugee routes change, we are ready to support Europe in this aspect”. /ibna/
