“Your party has decisively won”, Putin told Vucic referring to April 24 elections. “Besides this”, he went on, “your allies have got the needed number of members of parliament. I know that the government will be formed soon. I would like to express my hope that – regardless of the future cabinet composition – people who pay significant attention to the relations between Serbia and Russia would have decent place (in the government)”.
Putin “promised” Vucic that strengthening of the links between two countries would be continued as well as political and economic cooperation, RIA Novosti reported. Russian President reiterated that Moscow would “cooperate” with Serbian in the international forums.

“The relations with the Russian Federation mean us a lot. We especially appreciate your personal contribution to the development of our countries relations in all domains”, Vucic said adding that new government would be formed by mid-June.
“We are honored, and we feel duty to do our best in order relations with Russian Federation to progress in all domains, and both economy and politics”, Vucic said at the meeting in Kremlin.
Earlier today Serbian government stated that Vucic met Putin and that they have discussed “all important questions” and further development of bilateral ties. According to government’s media release, two officials have concluded that “sincere and true friendship of Serbian and Russian people have to be confirmed with even more concrete and successful cooperation in all domains of social life”.
