Protests in Skopje: Albania, say “No” to Syria’s chemical weapons

Skopje, November 14, 2013

A protest was held today against the arrival of Syria’s chemical weapons in Albania and as a sign of solidarity with protestors in Albania.

A group of people protested today in front of the Albanian embassy under the motto “Albania, say stop to Syria’s chemical weapons”.

The representative of protestors, Anita Latifi said that the protest has been organized as an incentive of several conscious citizens, without demanding support from other organizations.

“Saddened about the possibility of the arrival of chemical weapons to Albania, we have gathered here today to express our strong objection against this idea.

We show our solidarity with the citizens of Albania who raise their voice to protect our health and the wellbeing of future generations. We encourage and we demand from the Albanian government to say no to any possibility of the destruction of Syria’s weapons in Albania, due to the damage that may be caused for everyone”, said the organizers of this protest. /ibna/
