Hundreds of people protested today in front of the Constitutional Court against its decision to pardon those people who have been involved in the irregularities taken place in the recent elections in the country.
This pardoning will be enabled through an amnesty which will be granted by the president of the country.
The protest was held by “Ajde” civil organization, which demanded the removal of the five judges who gave this decision. During the protest, participants launched slogans against the court.
“With this decision, this court violated the Constitution. Through these protests, we want to show that this institution doesn’t have any legitimacy”, declared Uranija Piroski of the Helsinki Committee.
This is the third protest of the civil society in front of this court, which approved the amnesty after the Special Prosecution launched investigations and indicted eight people, including the former minister of Interior for irregularities in the last elections. /ibna/
