Another massive protest was held last night in Skopje, where the resignation of prime minister Nikola Gruevski was requested.
Thousands of protesters have marched in the streets of Skopje, calling for the prime minister to be held accountable for corruption and injustices.
From the government building, protesters have moved in front of the parliament with anti-government banners on their hand.
Sanja, a protester from Skopje, told IBNA that the resignations have come as a result of the massive protests, but also as a result of the government’s dark scenarios which are being unveiled. “We demand them to go, because if they don’t go, there is no future”, says the student from Skopje.
A letter was read in front of parliament, where protesters requested the resignation of the entire government. “Not only resignation, but criminal responsibility for the crimes, corruption, injustices, poverties that they’re responsible for. We demand the release of all political prisoners and we demand an interim government which will cleanse all institutions and restore the rule of law”, says the letter read by protesters.
This protest also saw the participation of the opposition representatives. On May 17, the Macedonian opposition has called for a massive protest against the current government and its resignation.
On the other hand, several pro government media warn a counter protest which will be held by government supporters. /ibna/
