Court session in the “MTPT” trial against Fatmir Lamaj has begun, where the prosecutor of the case, Johanes Picket has demanded the confirmation of the charges.
“Several claims of the defending attorneys are unacceptable. It’s sad to hear the attorneys say that prosecution has based its charges on newspaper stories and rumors. The Prosecution demands the charges for corruption against Limaj and the others to be treated like they should do”, said Picket.
Picket has accused Limaj’s defending attorneys who said that the prosecution has no evidence.
“We have heard theories of conspiracy, according to which the prosecution is leading a witch hunt. It’s a disgrace that these lies have been spread all around Kosovo and abroad”, said Picket.
Meanwhile, Limaj’s defending attorney, Tome Gashi has said that there will not be a confirmation of the charges, because according to him, there are no evidence which can prove the claims of the prosecutor of the case, Johanes Picket against Fatmir Limaj.
“After the conclusions given by the prosecutor, the judge will determine the date for the ruling, which we believe that it will overturn the charges against Fatmir Limaj, because there are no proofs that can substantiate the claims of the prosecutor against Fatmir Limaj”, declared Gashi.
The defendants in the “MTPT” trial are Fatmir Limaj MP, his two brothers Demir and Florim Limaj, Endrit Shala, Nexhat Krasniqi, Florim Zuka and Gani Zogaj. /ibna/
