The wave of massive migration of Kosovo nationals is having an impact in the economic processes of Kosovo and Austria. In the past few weeks alone, there have been 1800 asylum applications. But, they will return because Kosovo is a safe country and its future is decisive.
This was declared today in Pristina by the Austrian Interior Minister, Johanna Mikl-Leitner, during a meeting held with the Kosovo PM, Isa Mustafa.
“It’s not true that the citizens that seek asylum will find a job. What’s promised to the citizens in order to leave the country is a lie”, said the Austrian minister.
The Austrian minister has also announced that there will be collaboration with authorities in Hungary and Serbia in order to prevent illegal emigration of Kosovo citizens.
Leitner said that Austria has received around 30 thousand asylum applications, while Hungary says that it has received around 20 thousand. But she says that there will be planes every fortnight to bring back migrants to Pristina.
Meanwhile, Pm Mustafa briefed the Austrian minister on the large number of nationals that have left the country.
Mustafa said that he has told the minister that authorities of Kosovo will take measures and guarantee the necessary conditions for citizens to live and work in the country.
PM Mustafa demanded for the people who have recently left the country to return as soon as possible. /ibna/
