The government has started the implementation of a project which aims at taking internet to rural areas. According to this project, over 10 thousand homes in rural areas are expected to have internet.
The head of the Agency for Electronic Communications, Saso Dimitrijoski said that a tender will be launched for start of the project.
“The novelty of this project is that it will offer internet for people living in rural areas with a speed of at list 2 MB per second, regardless of the area”, Dimitrijoski said.
The project aims at including far away areas which have never presented any commercial interest for companies that offer internet services.
The Agency for Electronic Communication says that it has received many requests to take internet in distant villages, which are not part of the global network. /balkaneu.com/
