Professors arrested in Skopje for corruption

Six professors of the Faculty of Economics in Skopje and two of their collaborators have been arrested by police on charges of bribery.

Minister of Interior, Mitko Cavkov said that the arrested people have demanded money from students, varying from 500 to 1000 euros in exchange of a passing grade.

13 premises have been raided during this operation, while one of the arrested people was found with 1000 euros in his car.

The dean of the Economic Faculty, Ljubomir Drakulevski said that he will not issue any declarations before the court issues its ruling. “We have been expecting such thing to happen, but we will soon take our positioning”, the dean said. /
