Production resumes in Kosova A thermal power station

Following a big blast in the Kosova A thermal power station, which led to the death of two people, the A3 unit was once again made operational today and without encountering any problems, this unit is producing with a capacity of 130 MW.

According to a press statement released by Power Corporation of Kosovo (PCK), as far as other units of Kosova A are concerned, procedures have been launched in A5 unit to perform the necessary repairs, while the A4 is undergoing the regular annual repairs.

This way, once all the actions relating to safety of equipment is taken, Kosova A will once again be operational.

“After the shocking event taken place on June 6, which led to the death of two employees of the Corporation, today we have resumed the production of power supply by the A3 unit. We dedicate this process to the two employees as a sign of respect for their hard work in providing power supply for the citizens of this country. We will do everything we can to be close to the families that have lost their loved ones”, declared Arben Gjukaj, KPC’s managing director. He says that the company is committed to improve safety conditions for the employees. /ibna/
