Kosovar diplomacy insists that the process of talks with Serbia doesn’t involve and cannot involve the sovereignty of the youngest state in the Balkan.

The foreign minister of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj has declared this in a meeting that he had in Vienna with his Austrian counterpart, Sebastian Kurz.

“The talks with Serbia do not involve the status and sovereignty of the Republic of Kosovo. These are talks that aim the normalization of relations between the two countries. These are talks between two countries”, declared Mr. Hoxhaj in the joint press conference of the two ministers after the meeting that they had with each other.

Enver Hoxhaj said that Kosovo sees Austria as a state which can play a leading role in integrating Kosovo and Western Balkan in the European Union.

Foreign Minister of Kosovo said that Austria has offered constant support for many historical processes which relate to the formation of the state of Kosovo, expressing the gratitude of the people and government of Kosovo for the people and government of Austria.

“We see Austria as a country which can have a leading role in integrating Kosovo and Balkan in the European Union”, said minister Hoxhaj.

Meanwhile, minister Kurz has expressed the strong support of Austria for Kosovo’s integrating processes.

“We support the perspective of Kosovo for the accession in the European Union and will support the signature of the Stabilization and Association Agreement during the Greek presidency. I’m very happy that today, altogether we will make steps forward in signing bilateral agreements between Austria and Kosovo”, said minister Kurz.

Foreign minister Kurz pledged that his country will further help Kosovo in the framework of EULEX and in order to preserve security and stability in Kosovo, it will increase the number of Austrian troops part of KFOR. /ibna/
