Priorities of IPA funds for 2016

Government of Kosovo has approved the financial agreement for the EU structural funds, IPA 2016.

Minister of European Integration, Bekim Collaku says that IPA’s agreement will focus on three main sectors: funding of the reform of the public administration, growth of competition and support for human rights and rights of communities.

According to him, the sectors that have been chosen for funding reflect the priorities of the government for economic and social development and the priorities in the framework of European integration.

As far as the reform in the public administration is concerned, minister Collaku said that negotiations are being held for a 25 million euro direct budget support.

Meanwhile, as far as competition of the economy of Kosovo is concerned, 10 million euros will be secured in cooperation with the Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the support of small and medium sized businesses.

As far as economic and social reintegration of minority communities in Kosovo, Collaku said that 8 million euros will be offered from the EU funds.

According to the data of the Ministry of European Integration, from 2014 until 2020, in the framework of the Instrument of Pre Accession, the EU will financially support reforms in the key sectors of the country with an amount of 645 million euros. /
