The Special Prosecution office has started a new investigation and its main suspect is the former Prime Minister and the VMRO-DPMNE leader, Nikola Gruevski.
The investigation is based on the wiretapped conversations of Gruevski as Prime Minister who gave order to slap Andrej Zernovski and destroy the offices of this commune run by the opposition.
Protests were organized in June 2013, in front of commune building by the supporters of ruling party, VMRO-DPMNE. The activists objected the changes in urban planning and demanded the stopping of work for the construction of the church in the city center.
In one of the intercepted conversations, Gruevski talks to the former minister of Transport and Communication Mile Janakieski, asking him to mobilize activists and task them to assault physically, Zernovski, the head of commune.
The protesters have also destroyed the commune building during the communal council meeting.
The head of commune has been summoned by Special Prosecution office to testify about this case. Special Prosecution office has also started the investigation about the construction of memorials and objects of baroque style in the framework of “Skopje 2014.” /balkaneu.com
