Price of fuel in FYROM is going up due to the price increases in world markets. The regulatory body for energy said that the price increase relates to the increase of prices in the world markets and the appreciation of denar against the US dollar. At the beginning of the year, a litre of petrol was sold 66,5 denars, while yesterday, a litre of petrol was sold at 71,5 denars. Meanwhile, diesel is being sold at 63 denars.
Opposition party VMRO-DPMNE has asked the government to remove the extra excise of 3,5 denar per liter. This tax was introduced by the government at the beginning of the year. According to the opposition, through this tax, the government generates over 30 million euros a year. But so far, the government has not reacted as to whether it will lift this tax or not. /ibna/
