Court of Appeal in Pristina has released today, after 4 months in custody, Uke Rugova, son of the former late president, Ibrahim Rugova.

This was confirmed by Tome Gashi, defense attorney of Izet Beqiri, another suspect in the same case.

“He’s facing another trial, which is more of a technical case than a case relating to his actions. Investigations on him have been used by EULEX police to unjustly enter the home of the historical president of Kosovo, Dr. Ibrahim Rugova”, said Gashi.

The son of the former late president has been arrested at the start of February. He is suspected of organized crime, fraud, exertion of influence, traffic of emigrants and abuse with office.

A while ago, the public prosecutor has listed the proofs against Uke Rugova, found in a former residence of Ibrahim Rugova. Involved in this case was also the former Italian ambassador. A letter sent to him, demanding support for visas, has been found in Rugova’s possession. /ibna/
