Presidential elections in FYR Macedonia will be held on April 13. The decision was signed today by the speaker of parliament, Trajko Veljanovski. “The decision for the announcement of the elections will be sent to the State Election Commission, in the quality of an institution responsible for the elections and to the Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Foreign Affairs”, stressed Veljanovski. According to him, based on the Constitution, presidential elections will be held within 60 days from the expiry of the term in office of the current president.
“Given that April 20 marks Orthodox Easter and in respect of the feelings of religious believers, we have decided for the elections to be held on April 2014”, stressed Veljanovski. According to him, the country is entering an electoral process based on rules confirmed by all parties which must be fully complied with, making these elections free and democratic. /ibna/
