Presidential Commissioner Fotis Photiou and Greek Deputy Foreign Minister, Terence Quick, participated in the Lebanese diaspora conference held in Beirut today, at the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lebanon, Gebran Bassil.
An informal trilateral meeting between Cyprus, Greece and Lebanon took place on the sidelines of the conference with the participation of Photiou, Quick and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lebanon, which dealt with issues of common interest, in particular as regards the Diaspora of the three countries.
The three sides decided to define cooperation actions in specific areas, with emphasis on tourism, education and youth, as agreed at a previous meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Cyprus, Greece and Lebanon.
Photiou will conclude his two-day visit to Lebanon on Friday, with meetings with the Patriarch of the Maronites in Antioch, Bechara Boutros al-Rahi and the Catholic Patriarch of the Armenian, Aram A’. He will also meet with the President and members of the Cypriot community of Beirut./IBNA
