President Thaci demands a tougher fight against high profile crime

President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci received in a meeting the head of the Prosecution Council, Blerim Isufaj and General Attorney, Aleksander Lumezi.

In this meeting, Thaci confirmed the cooperation of the President’s Office with these two important institutions for the country and congratulated them on the latest legal changes which enabled a clear division of roles between them.

“It’s important that the council strengthens its overseeing role”, President Thaci said in the meeting with Isufaj.

Meanwhile, by congratulating the General Attorney Office for the efficient functioning of the State Prosecution, president Thaci said that this office must be a leader in the fight against crimes, especially serious crimes.

“Fight of corruption, organized crime and high profile crimes have an impact in the general image of justice and rule of law in Kosovo”, said president Thaci.

The importance of the rule of law in the process of EU integration, the functioning of justice institutions in the north of the country and the transfer of powers from EULEX to the institutions of Kosovo, were some of the other points discussed in this meeting. /balkaneu.com/
