The engagement of the Israeli government to boost the interest of the Israeli businesses to make concrete investments in Albania is seen by Albanian authorities as a benefiting effort for both sides. Albanian president, Bujar Nishani received in a meeting, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Israel, Yair Shamir, who is on an official visit and suggested that, “due to the geographical position and positive developments in the region, our country is seen as the entry gate of the regional market and beyond”.
Nishani says that there’s plenty of room for the intensification of economic cooperation between the two countries.
He mentioned agriculture, where the Israeli experience is especially welcomed and is considered as one of the most advanced one. He added that there’s also unexploited potential of cooperation in the domain of tourism, technology and exploitation of waters, education, science and culture.
Israeli minister Shamir said that this visit is part of the high level meetings in Israel and reflects the friendship and cooperation between Albania and Israel which have deep historical roots and suggested to the president that Israel will bring a lot of experience in the domain of technology and knowhow.
President Nishani and minister Shamir noted the feelings of mutual sympathy between our two countries and the role of Albanians in rescuing Jews during the Holocaust period and in this context, they expressed their optimism for the future cooperation between Albania and Israel. /ibna/
