President of Georgia in Cyprus on Tuesday

Developments in the Cyprus problem, the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean and bilateral relations between Cyprus and Georgia will be among the issues that will be discussed at tomorrow’s meeting between the President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades and the President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili, Government Spokesman Marios Pelekanos said today.

In a statement to the media, Pelecanos said that “the President of Georgia will be in Cyprus tomorrow for an official visit, at the invitation of President Nicos Anastasiades.

President Zourabichvili will have a private meeting with the President of the Republic tomorrow morning, followed by extended talks between the delegations of the two countries during which bilateral relations and ways of strengthening them will be discussed, as well as issues of common interest, such as EU-Georgia relations, the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean, the ongoing efforts to deal with the effects of the pandemic and regional developments.

The President of the Republic will have the opportunity to inform the President of Georgia about the unacceptable provocations of the Turkish and Turkish Cypriot side in the enclosed city of Famagusta and in the EEZ of the Republic of Cyprus, and of course he will also inform her about the unacceptable claims they are making regarding the framework for a solution of the Cyprus problem.”/ibna
