President Obama sends a telegram of congratulations to president Jahjaga

US president, Barack Obama has congratulated the president of the Republic of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of the independence of Kosovo.

In his wish, President Obama promises the continuation of US support for Kosovo and its growth as a sovereign democracy, independent and multi ethnic. Obama says that Kosovo must be proud for the important progress made in the past 6 years, especially about the historical achievements of 2013.

“On behalf of the American people, I have the pleasure to wish the people of Kosovo on the 6th anniversary of your independence, which will be celebrated on February 17. USA continues to support further development of Kosovo and its growth as a sovereign democracy, independent and multi ethnic. Kosovo must be proud for the important progress made in the past 6 years, especially with the historical achievements made in 2013, including the April Agreement with Serbia for the normalization of relations and progress made in the talks brokered by EU”, says the telegram sent by the US president, Barack Obama.

“We remain committed to support your progress toward Euro Atlantic integration and in building a better future for the citizens of Kosovo”, concludes the telegram of the US president, Barack Obama. /ibna/
