The meeting focused on the situation in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, cross ethnic relations and the level of the implementation of the Ohrid Agreement, along with the state of the rights of Albanians in Southern Serbia.
The president said that the full implementation of the Ohrid Agreement is the only alternative of harmonic cohabitation in FYROM, pointing out the crucial importance that Albanians have there in the consolidation of the state.
The president has also talked about the rights of Albanians in Southern Serbia. He said that the implementation of the 7 point plan by the government in Southern Serbia is a priority. “It’s necessary for this plan to be accompanied by more investments and economic development in this area”, said Mr. Nishani.
The president also pointed out the importance of the signature of the agreement for mutual recognition of degrees between Albania and Serbia. He said that this is a step which would increase number of jobs for young people from Southern Serbia educated in Albania and not drop outs and abandonment of the area. /ibna/
