President of the Republic of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga has demanded from security agencies to take measures in order to prevent extremism. She said that Kosovo will not become a source of extremism.
President Jahjaga has met with the heads of security agencies of the country to discuss the threat coming from extremism and radicalism in the country and the measures taken by these institutions in order to prevent this unacceptable phenomenon.
The president’s office has issued a press release, stating that the president has demanded from the heads of security agencies in the country to make the threat against the security of Kosovo, the region and beyond a priority and in collaboration with strategic partners, to prevent Kosovo from exporting this global threat.
“Kosovo will never become a source of extremism and shelter criminals who encourage terror and hatred. I invite all the citizens of Kosovo and religious communities to collaborate with national authorities and security mechanisms in order to prosecute individuals that are behind these attempts to destabilize Kosovo and its long tradition of religious harmony”.
“It’s our responsibility as institutions and society to condemn these ugly phenomena. We must distance from these cruel acts and we must denounce these criminals”, said Jahjaga. /ibna/
