President of the Republic of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga praises the operation launched today by security agencies in Kosovo against terrorist suspects for their participation in the war in Syria and Iraq alongside terrorist organizations and the crackdown of activities that relate to the encouragement of violent extremism and hate.

According to the press statement of the president’s office, the scope of the operation is to have a free, safe and tolerant Kosovo, free of terrorism and criminality, phenomena that damage our long tradition of religious tolerance and which go against the values and ideals on which Kosovo was built.

Jahjaga says that this operation aims at bringing to justice all of those who have inspired actions that pose a threat for the national security of the Republic of Kosovo, the citizens, region and beyond. Jahjaga also thanks the members of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency and Police of Kosovo for their hard work in identifying and preventing the dangers that threaten Kosovo and its strategic allies from terrorism. She also praises the work of the State Prosecution in imposing rule of law in the country.

The head of the state said that Kosovo will not be a shelter of extremism and stressed that the institutions of Kosovo will never allow for the country to be a source of criminal and terrorist activities that threaten peace, stability and constitutional order /ibna/
