Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan received the Russian Federation Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu at the Tarabya Presidential Palace in Istanbul. The duration of meeting was nearly 2 hours.
The Chief of General Staff General Hulusi Akar and the Head of the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MIT) Hakan Fidan also attended the meeting between Erdoğan and Shoygu.
No further information was given regarding the meeting, but the agenda is said to included the recent developments in Syria, some details for the S400 air defense system that Turkey wants to buy from Russia, and the Qatar crisis.
On Friday, the Turkish President had phone calls both with Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. Ankara may be forced to go to an operation in the Afrin region in Northen Syria due to the armament of YPG./IBNA
