The president demands the Constitutional Court’s interpretation on the prime minister nominee

President of the Republic of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, based on her constitutional powers, has addressed today to the Constitutional Court in order to clarify several constitutional issues which relate to her powers.

She addressed to the court in order to clarify the constitutional action of the President of the Republic of Kosovo which relates to article 84 section 14 and article 95 of the Constitution of the country, reads the press statement issued by the President’s office.

“The assessment of the compliance of the articles of the Constitution of Kosovo will enable the President of the country to take the necessary actions in line with the ruling of the Court”.

According to the President of the Republic of Kosovo, the request addressed to the Constitutional Court on the compliance of the two articles of the Constitution guarantees a fair and credible process which will further guarantee a democratic functioning of state institutions.

“The request for the assessment of the consistency of the two articles of the Constitution has been addressed to the Constitutional Court, a credible and professional institution, doesn’t interfere with the work of the Central Election Commission to finalize the certification of the June 8 election result”, reads the press statement. /ibna/
